Once you get your Medicare Part A & B Card you can apply for coverage to start the 1st day of your birth month, even if you were born on the last day of that month, i.e. born June 26th your Medicare health coverage starts June 1st the year you turn 65. You may sign up 3 months prior to your 65th birth month and up to 3 months after your 65th birthday - don't wait until the last minute to start your plan.
